Yoneo Fujikawa

The family of Yoneo “Yo” Fujikawa sadly shares the news of his passing at the age of 44, on December 14th, 2024. Yo was surrounded by his loving family at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 9, 1980, in Mount Vernon, Washington, Yoneo was the cherished son of Elmarae Garcia (Hibert) and Glen Fujikawa. Yo attended Ferndale Schools, graduating in 1999. In 2004, Yo and his wife Jaime (Taylor) Fujikawa, relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where they raised their two adored sons, Cameron and Kyler. Yo embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. As a dedicated entrepreneur and small business owner, Yo was committed to helping his colleagues and clients alike. He was also a man of many passions, including snowboarding, camping with his family, playing sports, and breaking down moves on the dance floor. But his greatest joy was watching his boys do what they loved. He seized every opportunity to travel the world with his family, creating memories they will cherish forever. Yoneo was preceded in death by many cherished family members and is survived by a devoted family who will honor his memory. He is survived by Jaime Taylor-Fujikawa and their two sons Cameron and Kyler Fujikawa of Eugene, Oregon; his younger brother Johnny Fujikawa of San Diego, California; his Father and stepmother, Glen and Sydney Fujikawa of Los Angeles, California and the extended Fujikawa family; his Mother and stepfather, Elmarae and Rick Hibert of Blaine, Washington; his step sister and brother-in-law, Bri & Matt Rogerson and nephew Marcus of Ferndale, Washington; and step brother and sister-in-law Jesse & Candi Hibert of Corvallis, Oregon; along with the entire Garcia family. Family, friends, and relatives are invited to a celebration of life held in Yoneo's honor on January 4, 2024, from 1-3 PM at Ferndale High School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Whatcom Hospice House in Yo's memory.
