Wilma “Willie” A. Johnson, age 81, of Bellingham passed away at her home, Friday, April 15, 2016 on her 63nd wedding anniversary. She was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Bellingham to parents Elsworth and Wilma (Judkins) Patrick. Willie graduated from Bellingham High School in the class of 1952. She married Delbert E. Johnson April 15, 1953 in San Diego, California. Willie worked for many years at the Bellingham Senior Center, retiring as the Director of the Adult Mentally Challenged program. When she was not working Willie enjoyed tennis, picture framing and was a member of the Red Hatters Society, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Danny, sisters Lolita Peterson and Dolores Zwicker and her brother Gary Patrick. Willie is survived by her husband Delbert; son, Donnell (Sheryl) Johnson; daughter, Charlina Johnson; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; sisters Patricia (Roger) Buss and Lynda Grant; brothers, Leland (Erdyne) Patrick, Robert (Jeannie) Patrick and Michael (PediSue) Patrick; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives including nieces, Cherrie Rothenbuhler and Connie Audette her caregiver. A memorial service open house will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at Sig’s Funeral & Cremation Services, 809 W. Orchard Drive, Suite #5, Bellingham, WA 98225 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Private family interment at Greenacres Cemetery, Ferndale. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to Whatcom Hospice House.
