Virgil L. Reed, Sr.

Virgil Lee Reed, Sr., age 68, of Bellingham was born April 8, 1946 in Pikeville, Kentucky.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Horton Reed; sons, Virgil Lee Reed, Jr. and Wesley Reed; and his faithful dog, Luke.

What a guy!  Virgil was unique, truly one of a kind.

Linda loved him, not only because he was cute as a bug’s ear, but because he was intelligent and lived such an interesting life.  Of course, everyone knew that SHE was the funny one although he always thought that HE was the funny one.

This couple was extremely fortunate to have had such a long-lasting, loving relationship.  However, there were times not so loving.  Like the time Linda was about to leave him, but somehow they decided to go to a George Jones Concert in Seattle instead.

Virgil loved to Barbeque and enjoyed the many get-togethers with the Erholms, neighbors, and friends at the Fish Shack.

When diagnosed with cancer, he was asked if there was any place he would like to go, anything he would like to do, or person he would like to meet.  He replied, no.  He was happy with the life he lived.

Perhaps Virgil and Linda would not have stayed married so long if it were not for those Tuesdays when he and Luke went to the property to stay overnight.

He died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington.

Linda has a message for him:  “I’m crazy about you, Baby.”
