Susan Lee Burkhalter

Susan Lee Burkhalter died peacefully on February 17, 2025. She was born December 3, 1948 in Bellingham, Washington to Leo V. Eiford and Barbara Ann Eiford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Gary Eiford and her younger brother Dan Eiford (surviving wife, Kathy). She is survived by her siblings: Debbie Little and husband Gary, Greg Eiford and wife Tami, Shelli Brown and husband Bill, and Rob Eiford and wife Susanne. Susan graduated from Bellingham High School in 1967. She married the love of her life, Steven R. Burkhalter, on June 29, 1968. They were blessed with two boys: Scott Burkhalter and Jeff Burkhalter and wife, Diane. Susan’s second generation of blessings include: Merika, Christiana, Brayla, Dylan, Aleena, Jasmyn and Keenan. Susan devoted her life to caring for others. She was full of strength, joy, compassion and resolve. She touched many lives in her service to others, and was cherished by her family, exuding a motherly role. Services will take place at First Christian Church, 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, with her sister and best friend, Debbie Little officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Society.
