Steven L. Raymond

Steven L. Raymond, age 58, of Maple Falls, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Bellingham. He was born November 30, 1953 in Bellingham to parents Robert H. and Judith A. (Ruzicka) Raymond. He graduated from Meridian High School and entered the work force right away working commercial fishing in Alaska, dairy farming, logging, and was an expert mechanic who could fix anything that had an engine. He was also the caretaker at the Mt. Baker Baptist Camp for several years.

Steve had many hobbies including camping with family and friends, fishing on the Nooksack and Skagit rivers, the San Juan’s, and numerous lakes around the Northwest. But most of all he loved riding his Kawasaki 1100 motorcycle that he rode well over a 100,000 miles in the last few years. He also loved animals. He was especially fond of his small toy poodle, Buddy. He loved putting on its “doggles” (dog goggles) and going for long rides on his motorcycle. They were inseparable.

Steve is survived by his wife Maria, his parents Bob and Judy Raymond, brother Jim Raymond, son Luke Raymond and his wife Cathy and their son Camden, step-daughters Amelia Moon and Angelina Magana, and numerous other great grandchildren and many great friends.
