Roberta Eileen Finkbonner

Roberta E. Finkbonner 81, long time resident of Bellingham WA, passed away on March 9th, 2025. After her long hard battle with cancer. Roberta was married to the love of her life Charles Finkbonner on October 1st of 1960 on the Lummi Reservation. They were married for 64 years.

Roberta loved the Seattle Seahawks, Elvis Presley and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to mail out holiday cards, and keep up with as many people as possible. She loved to travel and has been many places throughout her life.

Roberta had many jobs throughout her life. She worked in floral shops, sold Tupperware and worked at Bumblebee Seafood. She spent many years working in Alaska at Bumblebee Seafood. But her favorite job was being a grandma and always showing up for her grandchildren. She made it to every horse show, rugby game, football game, baseball game and any other sporting event that she could. She was always in the stands cheering them on.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles “Sammy” Finkbonner and her three children. Renee Muniz (Cruz), Robert Finkbonner (Becky Hathaway), and Ramona McDonald (Don). Her sisters Charmayne Colglazier, Robin Dunn, Jeanette Mehl and Audrey Morrison. And her eight grandchildren. Alexandria (DJ), Samantha, Charles (Anna), Celena, Spencer, Carlina, Christian and Georgia. She always asked for great grandchildren but her grandchildren have yet to fulfill her dreams. She is also survived by a large extended family including cousins, nieces and nephews.

Roberta was a fun-loving lady. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, to welcome anyone for holiday meals and to make sure everyone was taken care of. She was famous for her potato salad, date cookies and hatred of warm cheese.

She will be missed dearly and live on in our hearts. We will live our best lives for her, as that’s what she would want. And as always, cheer on the Seahawks whether they win or lose.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday March 18th at 1pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, 5977 Northwest Dr. Ferndale, WA 98248. Reception to follow at the Veterans Hall at 2608 Kwina Rd. Bellingham WA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Whatcom Hospice Foundation.
