Robbie Robinson, age 79, of Bellingham, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 (Veterans Day) at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham. He was born, March 24, 1933 in Long beach, California to George & Manara (affectionately known as Ginger) Robinson, while his father was in the Navy. Robbie's Great- Grandfather was an original settler in Ferndale, WA.
Robbie joined the US Navy after High School and retired in 1970 after 22 years of service to his country, while in the service he earned numerous service medals while in Korea and Vietnam.
After retiring from the Navy he moved back to Bellingham, WA with the love of his life Louise who preceded him in death in 1993 and worked as a security guard for 20 yrs.
Robbie loved playing golf and having a beer with his friends. He was a member of the Albert J. Hamilton Post #7, American Legion of Bellingham and the William Matthews Post #1585 V.F.W. of Bellingham where he had held various officer positions in both organizations.
He is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca Jane DiLorenzo and Beth Ann Robinson; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Sunday, (St. Patrick’s Day) March 17, 2013, 1:00 PM at Greenacres Cemetery, Ferndale, with Chaplain Ron Buchinski officiating.
