Rita Josephine Theriault

An ikon in the Theriault family has passed away. Rita Josephine Pernatozzi Theriault, passed Sept. 5, 2017. She was 94. As those of you know Rita was a vibrant, vocal, energetic Italian woman who we are proud to say was our mother and grandmother. She is survived by daughter Pamela (Langley, BC) her son Gary (San Pedro, Ca.), her granddaughter Rachel Theriault (Huntington Beach, Calif) and grandson Austin Theriault (Trinidad, Calif). Rita lived life to the absolute fullest, she was extremely independent, still driving her beloved PT Cruiser, shopping and cooking for herself and others. She was loved by all. We will miss her wit, fire, finger pointing, and cooking. Rita is now with the love of her life, our dad (Ralph C. Theriault Jr). She missed him terribly but carried on seeing both her grandchildren graduate from university, planting garlic and a garden and enjoying her home. My family will be organizing a celebration of her life sometime in the near future. We love you mom and will miss you. We will carry on the many traditions that you have created over the years to honor your life. A funeral mass will be offered by Fr. K. Scott Connolly, Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, 10:30 AM, Church Of The Assumption, 2116 Cornwall AV, Bellingham, WA 98225.  A combined graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, 11:00 AM at Enterprise Cemetery, 7041 Vista Dr., Ferndale, WA 98248, for both Rita and Ralph, Military Honors will be offered by Bellingham American Legion Post #7 and McChord Field Honor Guard.  A celebration of Rita’s life will be held following the graveside service at 3:00 PM at Rita’s home.
