Rita Jean Miller

Rita Jean (Comstock) Miller, age 89 of Bellingham, WA, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Peace Health Hospital. She was born February 2, 1933, to William and Amalia Kirschman in Garden City, Kansas, the third of seven children.

She met Howard Comstock, and they were married on May 27, 1950, in Bellingham, WA and moved to Sedro-Woolley, where they raised their two daughters. After Howard’s passing, she married J Miller and moved to Kennewick, WA for a brief time. Rita moved back to Bellingham, WA and resided there until her passing.

Rita enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting the casino’s, playing cards, her “sister’s  and brother lunches on Friday’s, and her visits from family and friends. She especially enjoyed seeing and hearing what her grands, great grands, and great-great grands were up to.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Darlene and husband Joel Woiwod, Bonnie and husband Joel Manthey; eight grandchildren, Rhonda (Jonathan) Hanlon, Eric (Janel) Woiwod, Sarah (Rick) Gibbs, Shilo Lehn, and Shannon (Kris) Franks; 11 great grandchildren, Gracie (Jake) Hollander, Allison Woiwod, Orion (Brent) Eleen, Skarlett Dalrymple, Avry Dalrymple, Jake Lehn, Adrianne Lehn, Olivia Landucci, Abigail Foster, Peyton Rector, and Beaux Franks; 3 great-great granddaughters, Octavia Eleen, Jupiter Eleen and Faith Hollander; sisters Lorraine McMonagle and Jeannette Kirschman; brother Jim Kirschman, and sister-in-law Betty Kirschman, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, “special friends” at  Sterling Senior Housing in Bellingham, WA.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Mollie Kirschman; husband Howard Comstock; husband J Miller; brother Walt Kirschman; sisters Charlene Knowlton and Mary Stuart; great granddaughter Aubrey Woiwod.

A private service will take place in Sedro-Woolley, WA. A Gathering of family and friends for A Celebration of Life, will take place at the Sedro-Woolley Community Center in Sedro-Woolley, WA on October 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
