Rick Lee Hamilton

Rick Lee Hamilton, age 56, tragically passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Rick was born March 25, 1958, in Bellingham, Washington, to Dave and Sheila (Cradock) Hamilton.

He was a lifetime resident of Skagit and Whatcom Counties, and grew up in Sedro Woolley. Rick started into the logging industry right out of high school. He began with his uncles, at Hamilton Brothers Logging, moving onto Fetter Logging, and finishing with Harkness Logging as a Yarder Engineer, for the past 37 years the Woods became his life.

Rick enjoyed working on Cars with his sons, Skagit Speedway, Football, Hot Tubbin’, Hunting, Fishing, Picking Mushrooms, and searching for car parts on Craigslist. He loved Mochas, Muffins, and Red Meat, all the things the doctor said he should not have! Rick especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Rick was an amazing dad, husband, son, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend to anyone and everyone who gave him the chance. From the instant that he entered Marsha’s life in 1998, he was a father to her two sons, as she was a mother to his. The four sons of Rick’s family created an unbreakable bond after the marriage of Rick and Marsha on September 2, 2000. After losing Justin in 2001, Rick continued to raise his now three sons into the fine young men that they are today.

Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Robin Hamilton, father, David Hamilton, and son, Justin Scott-Hamilton.

Rick is survived by his wife, Marsha Hamilton of Glacier; sons, Ryan Hamilton (Rachel) of Burlington, Karl Nichols (Erin) of Everson, and Robin Foster of Glacier; mother and step-father, Sheila and Lloyd Wilson of Sedro Woolley; mother-in-law, Phyllis Robertson (Chub) of Wenatchee; grandchildren, Daniel Wargo, Justyn Hamilton, Allison Hamilton, Ella Gunderman, Adalena Nichols, Dezeray Waller, Colby Nation, and Kaden Nation; brother, Randy Hamilton (Bunt) of Sedro Woolley; sister, Sharon Papp of Arizona; brother in-law, Chuck Robertson of Oregon, step-brother Jack Wilson (Kelly) of Minnesota; step-sisters, Jan Flint (Ted) of Bellingham, Joann Hardin  (Aaron) of Sedro Woolley, and Joy Mitchell of Mount Vernon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
