Richard A. Monaghan, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home in Deming, WA. He was born in Bellingham, WA on November 26, 1948 to Richard and Carol (Mellot) Monaghan. Rick graduated from Mount Baker High School in the Class of 1967, and was employed by Intalco Aluminum and retired from there. He loved hunting fishing and playing golf. Preceded in death by parents, Richard and Carol (Mellot) Monaghan, brother, Douglas Monaghan and his oldest son, Scott Monaghan. Rick is survived by his sisters, Debbie (Larry) Mattingley and Teresa Huff; daughter, Becky Anderson; son, Matthew (Chrissy) Monaghan; grandchildren, Hope Woolf, Kaitlyn and Carsen Monaghan, Faith and Jake Anderson and Ellie Monaghan; great grandchildren, Ryder Mead, Lilah, Jason and Ava Surowiecki and Riylynn Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life potluck style will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Stone’s Family Campground at 5905 Truck Road, Deming.
