Ona JoeAnn Ruthford age 90, of Bellingham was born January 30, 1928 in Lyman, Washington to Clifford and Ona Cooper. JoeAnn was the youngest of four. The family moved to Bellingham in 1930, where JoeAnn attended Bellingham Schools. She briefly attended Washington State University but decided College wasn’t for her. She came back to Bellingham where she started working at Georgia Pacific in the Toilet Paper Division. She took a break from working to raise her daughter Tamara, until Tamara was in grade school, then JoeAnn started working at Safeway when it was on Cornwall Ave. She retired from Safeway when it was in Meridian Village where DeWaard and Bode is located now. In her retirement JoeAnn enjoyed golfing, bowling, working in her yard, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. JoeAnn was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ona Cooper, her three brothers, Tobias, Ralph and William Cooper. She is survived by her daughter Tamara Williamson, her three grandchildren Elizabeth Williamson, Steven Williamson, Richard (Cassie) Williamson and great granddaughter Everlee Williamson, and a great grandson expected in May. A Private family graveside service will be at Union Cemetery, in Sedro Woolley, Washington.
