Michael Oliver Olson

Michael "Popo" Oliver Olson, age 72, his ship was set a blaze on May 6, 2015. He heroicly battled the darkness of death and broke through to the Light of the other shore.

Upon his landing, he was greated by the cheers of his fellow Vikings who had preceded him. His Father, his mother, his brother, his sister and his faithful comrade in battle, MollyBee (beloved German Shepherd).

Before he received his inner calling from the Vikings, he lived in Kodiak, Alaska. As a teen his scrappy side came out & then became known as the "Kodiak Kid" in the boxing ring. Where he would go to win several fights. This is a place he always wanted to go back to.

Years passed and his musical side emerged. Using his deep Viking voice, he went on to work for KGMI as a radio announcer. He enjoyed various kinds of music ranging from Willie Nelson "You were always on my mind", to Princes, "Purple Rain" to "No Diggity No Doubt" by Blackstreet.

Years passed and the call of the road echoed through his ears. He hastily bought a semi truck and his new adventures began.  He went places that he'd never been. Seeing things that he may never see again. He just couldn't wait to get on that road again.

Looking in his rear view mirror he noticed a pale horse with cigarette, then the darkness set in. He began to battle lung disease and heart disease.

His Viking transformation now took on a life of its own. He rode the waves as they came on high and low, fast and slow. Tho his ship was tossed to and fro, he grasp his Viking strength and refused let go.

He fought these raging winds of adversity with valor & an undefeated smile.

The Grand Viking finally came around and there was a golden ladder reaching down. So he grabbed a hold and there was no more dying. He is alive!

Patty, April his oldest daughter in Montana (son in law Clint) & Misty his youngest daughter in Ferndale (son in law Efrain). Grandchildren who he loved so dearly as follows; Storme, Rainie, Hunter, Noble, Livia, Rivers, Chase Michael, Beckham and Cruz. Great granddaughters Serenity and twin girls on the way.
