Margaret Arlene Wheeler was welcomed at Heaven’s door by her Lord and Savior on March 28, 2025, age 86, at home with her husband by her side, from pancreatic cancer.
Margie lived in Whatcom County all her life and grew up with her two older sisters, Jane and Harriet. She was a country girl who loved animals and had a passion for horses from an early age. As a young woman, she fell in love with Robert "Bob" Williams, and they were married. They raised two children, David and Linda, before the Lord took Bob at the young age of 42. Margie then worked at Uniflite followed by Northwest Medical. During this time, she met and married Don Wheeler, and they enjoyed traveling the world, sharing their stories, biking, and working on their properties. Over the years, they also built several beautiful homes together.
Margie was a devoted follower of Christ who loved reading her bible and studying God’s word. Her passion continued to be owning and adventuring with her horses - Sugar, Sunny, Bravo and Tika, just to name a few. She had many friends in the horse world and frequently hit the trails for many miles of riding. Margie and Wheeler spent winters in Arizona and the horse always came along. She was known to make Wheeler stop at Six Flags on the trip home so that she could ride the roller coasters - she was one to seek adventure that many others her age had long given up. Other fond memories with Margie involved sitting around the table and playing card games with family, recounting funny stories (Margie had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor), perusing endless antique stores, and soaking in the natural beauty of Whatcom County.
Margie is proceeded in death by her first husband Robert, sister Harriet Matter and daughter Linda Clark. She is survived by her husband Don Wheeler, sister Jane Regier, son David (Diane) Williams , stepson Scott (Kelly) Wheeler, stepdaughter Kendra Wheeler and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
