Margaret Ann Farrar

Margaret Farrar passed away on May 21, 2015 at the age of 84.  She was born on July 8, 1930 in Bellingham, Washington.  She grew up on a farm on the Smith Road and attended school in the Meridian School District, where she was the fastest runner in the 8th grade and leader of the high school marching band.  Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lillian Ritchie, three of her four siblings, Leonard Ritchie, Lillian Bailey and Kenneth Ritchie and her son, Jerry Farrar.  She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Douglas Farrar, sons, Steve Farrar, Jim Farrar and his wife Nancy, daughters, Kathy Otten, Debbie Knutson and her husband Gene, brother, Robert Ritchie and his wife Marian, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Margaret was a faithful and long-time member of First Christian Church.  She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, who was famous for her chocolate chip cookies.  She enjoyed reading and watching sports with her husband.  She had fun traveling to various places with her sister and she loved spending time with her family.  She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed.  A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 495 E. Bakerview Road, Bellingham, Washington.
