Leeann Rasbach passed peacefully Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham after a valiant 20-month battle with gallbladder cancer. Leeann was born June 26, 1967, to Lupe and Lily Herrera in Fresno, California. She grew up among a large family in the nearby farming community of Parlier, graduating from Parlier High School in 1985. She worked in retail management for more than 25 years and cherished her time as a bridal consultant at David’s Bridal in Lynnwood. Most recently, she worked as a bank teller at the Washington Federal Barkley branch. She was active in the Sacred Heart parish and Harborview Lions. Leeann married David Rasbach Feb. 8, 2003 in Morro Bay, California, and they moved to Bellingham in September 2005 to pursue David’s career at The Bellingham Herald. She will be remembered for her warm heart, sassy personality, sense of humor and her love for her numerous adopted and related nieces and nephews. Leeann is survived by her husband; brother, Leonard; and sister, Lynette. A Rosary will be said in her honor at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 and a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
