Koren (Kory) Ann Diemert

Koren (Kory) A. Diemert, age 80 of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at home after a 16 month battle against brain cancer. She was born August 5, 1942 to Mabel (Hawkinson) Karber and John Karber in Ulysses, Kansas. She graduated from Blaine High School in 1960 and got her Associates Degree from Tabor College in Kansas. In 1966, she married the love of her life, Arvid Diemert. Kory retired in 2009 as an Executive Event Planner for the Washington State Medical Association. After retiring Kory and Arv moved back from Bothell to Bellingham to care for Kory’s mother and spend more time with her family. After losing both her mother and husband in 2015, Kory spent her remaining years traveling, enjoying the community of her small groups, and trying new local shops and restaurants with family and friends. She will be remembered for her faith in Jesus, dedication to family, and her extraordinary hospitality.  Kory was preceded in death by her husband Arv Diemert, along with her parents and in-laws, Edna and Irwin Diemert and eldest sister Sharon Karber. She is survived by her brothers: John (Mary) Karber, Bob Karber, Jerry (Sharon) Karber, and sisters Carolyn (Mike) Ganzini and Lyn (Don) Pearce, 11 nephews and nieces, 27 great nephews and nieces, her Aunt Sylvia Jarman and numerous cousins. 

There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 10^th at 1:00 pm at Enterprise Cemetery. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11^th at 1:00 pm at Good News Fellowship Church located at 1252 W Axton Rd. Ferndale, WA and a reception to follow.
