Karen L. Jameson, age 81, was born November 1, 1935 in Seattle, WA to parents Floyd E. and Gladys M. (Johnson) Tucker. She grew up in Lakewood Tacoma with her younger sister Judy where she graduated from Clover Park High School and went on to the University of Washington. Karen met her husband John while acting in a play in Lakewood where John was stationed at McCord Air Force Base. They married and Karen gave birth to their son Jeff, then moved to West Seattle where their daughter Jill was born. While raising two children, Karen returned to the University of Washington to finish her degree in Early Childhood Education. The family moved to Ferndale Washington in 1971 when John got a vice-principal position. Karen started her own pre-school which she ran for several years before working with Whatcom Community College Co-operative Preschool. She so enjoyed all aspects of working with and loving children. After retiring, Karen and John became active in the Bellingham Theatre Guild, making lifelong friendships along the way. Besides travelling abroad, they visited Cannon Beach Oregon every October with dear friends. She always said that Cannon Beach was where she felt the most alive as she had visited almost annually since she was a child.
