Julie Marcille Crabtree (Barrow), age 51, of Lynden, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 27, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born January 22, 1961 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Robert Barrow and late Nina Gladden. Julie graduated from Ferndale High School in the class of 1979. Julie was married to her first husband who was in the military, Mike Shelton in 1981; they were married for 11 years and had two daughters Jennifer and Tawnya. She re-married in 1999 to Jeff Crabtree of Lynden and had two more daughters Tori and Jaycee. Julie’s true passion was her most recent job as a Certified Nursing Assistant, she really loved helping others; she had never forgotten any of the clients that she took care of.
Julie truly enjoyed life. She was a devoted Christian who loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandkids, shopping, reading, bible study, volunteering, and camping in her travel trailer. She was preceded in death by her mother Nina Gladden, her brothers Robert and Timothy Barrow, and her nephew Cooper Erickson. Julie is survived by her husband Jeff of 13 years; daughters Jennifer (Shelton) Hazenberg and husband Matt of Ferndale, Washington; Tawnya (Shelton) Rauch and husband Tyson of Lynden, Washington; Tori Crabtree of Lynden, Washington; and Jaycee Crabtree of Lynden, Washington; grandchildren Riley and Kaegan Rauch; Father Robert Barrow of Ferndale, Washington; Step-mother Nancy Balyntine of Dufur, Oregon, Sisters: Bonnie Grigsby and husband Wayne of Everett, Washington; Connie Barrow and husband Matt Turnberg of Blaine, Washington; Rachel Hemry-Barrow of Blaine, Washington; Jamesa Rutherford of Texas; and Matahna Erickson and husband Tyler of Bellingham, Washington; Brothers: Rodney Barrow and wife Patty of Quilcene, Washington; Aaron Hemry of Silverdale, Washington; and Andrew Barrow and wife Jackie of Bellingham, Washington; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday June 1, 2012 at 1:00pm at North County Christ The King Community Church in Lynden. Private family burial was held at Enterprise Cemetery, Ferndale, Washington
