Janet Dumont

Janet Dumont, age 75, of Ferndale passed away at her home Tuesday, January 27, 2015.  She fought a hard battle with Kidney Failure. After six months on dialysis, back surgery and a broken hip she decided January 9, 2015 that she wanted to go home under the care of Leonard, Cheryll and Hospice.  She longed to be free of pain and wanted to be with Jesus and her mother, Jessie.   She was given 3-10 days to live and made it into the 18^th morning and went peacefully with Leonard and Cheryll by her side.

Janet was preceded in death by her daughter Betty and is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Leonard; daughter, Cheryll and husband Ed Wydur; 4 legged child Elvis; step-son Brian Dumont and wife Sheere; grandchildren, Shonna  and husband Duane, Jennifer McCoskey, Jessica Mollett, Dallas McCoskey and wife Susan, Briana Shaw, Justin and Allyssa Dumont, Holli, Brittney and Jordan Wydur; great grandchildren, Mariyah Ryan, Allyssa Ausbourne and Skylar Checkman; brother In-law, Jim Dumont and his wife Florence; nieces, Lisa, Trixie and Tracey; nephews Stan and Jason and her cousin Joan.

She will be remembered for her love of her birds, hummingbirds, stray cats and squirrels which she loved to feed and watch.  Before she was ill she loved working in her flower beds.  She greatly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Leonard was more than her husband he was her soulmate and best friend he took wonderful care of her.

Janet wanted us to thank her Doctors for the wonderful care they provided:  Dr. Warner,

Dr. Lombard, and Dr. Gobar. She had many caring nurses to include Brooke of Hospice, Leanne of Avemeer, and Daniel of St. Joseph Hospital.  The family appreciated the support of Hospice Social worker Leigh beyond words.  Thanks to all of the family who helped care for Janet and all of the friends who brought food and flowers.  Leonard had support of  many coworkers from Fred Meyers that was also appreciated.  Special thanks to Leslie and Jeanna.  Thanks to the Chaplin’s Jennifer and Sol for their prayers.  Thanks to Debbie Wieland and Jordan Wydur for praying with Janet.  Janet’s first great grandchild, Mariyah age 17 spent hours and day’s by her Grandma’s side.  She slept many a night holding her hand.  This was hard for her to go through but she did it with much love. 

A huge thank you to Sig and Justin of Sig’s Funeral Services for treating Janet and her family with dignity and respect. 

Janet will be missed beyond words.  We will never stop loving her.  She is now free of pain and no longer suffering.  For that we are thankful. 

At Janet’s request there will be no funeral service.  There will be a Celebration of Life at a later time.
