James Lind Anderson 11/11/33 – 6/5/14
Jim, a lifetime resident of Whatcom County went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Thursday, June 5, 2014 surrounded by his family. His lengthy battle from Lewy Body Dementia has finally ended. He was born in Bellingham, Washington on November 11, 1933, to Norman and Theresa Anderson. Jim graduated from Bellingham High School in 1952, and attended WSU prior to serving as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. In 1956, he married Pauline Simpson of Ephrata. Jim helped run Hillview Dairy, the family business, prior to its closing. He then worked for Darigold up until his retirement in 1993. His favorite activities included spending time with family, backpacking in the North Cascades, skiing, and fishing. Jim will always be remembered for his wonderful hospitality and willingness to help those in need. He was a very generous man who gave of his time and abilities. Jim was known to just “show up” to help people on numerous occasions. He was a gentle and humble man who loved worshipping with family and friends at Immanuel Bible Church where he served as Deacon and Elder. Jim and Pauline were married 58 years. He is survived by Pauline and their four children: Paul (Julie) Anderson of Tacoma, Eric (Kathy) Anderson of Bellingham, Kris (Jon) Pearson of Bellingham, and Lisa (Doug) Demmert of Spokane. Siblings: Norma Christensen of Bermuda, Joanne Manning of Calgary, Alberta and Dr. Norman Anderson of Penticton, British Columbia. 17 grandchildren: James, Rachel, Daniel, Amy, Sarah, Molly, Stephen, Katrina, Lauren, David, Adam, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jeffrey, Bradley, Anna, Erika, 6 great grandchildren and a loving extended family. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Immanuel Bible Church, 2000 W. North, Bellingham at 1:30 pm. Private family graveside services with military honors will be at Sumas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Bible Church.
