Jack Charles Chevalier, Jr.

November 30, 1953 — November 26, 2023

Bellingham

Chuck was born November 30, 1953 to Jack and Geneil Chevalier.  He went to live with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the age of 69 years.  He lived his whole life in Bellingham, WA, but was thrilled to have traveled to Hawaii, North Dakota, and especially California to be on the TV game show “The Price is Right” (which Chuck was faithfully every day, and even at St. Francis had a sign on his door stating, “Do not disturb until after 11:00 AM unless a medical emergency!!!”

Chuck was a high functioning cerebral-palsied person, which was the result of an RH blood factor. Even with an outward loose-jointed appearance, in his youth he drove a car, played racquetball and pool, golfed, swam, and sang karaoke at The Cabin Tavern.

He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1972, was a member of Immanuel Bible Church, and was baptized on April 7, 1974 (age 21) by Pastor Gerald W. Wilson. Pastor David Erickson played a huge role in keeping Chuck on the straight and narrow path-not an easy task to do! Our family appreciated all the care and attention he gave Chuck over the many years-even up to the end! Another friend he depended on and trusted his whole life, was John J. Kamrar-words are not enough to express our gratitude to these two fine men! But, Thank-You!

Chuck worked at numerous jobs, with the two main ones being Bumble Bee Seafoods from 1977-1983 when the operation was sold, and as a custodian for Western Washington University from 1989 up to his retirement.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Jack who died in 1990 at 69 years, and Geneil in 2008 at 86 years.  He is survived by his cousins Gary (Diane) Wasel, Dale (Theresa) Wasel, Rachelle (Jay) Foster, and Rob (Jolene) Raplee, and numerous relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 19, 2023, 2:00 PM at Greenacres Cemetery with Pastor David Erickson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Health Whatcom Hospice, 2800 Douglas Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225.  He truly was one of a kind, and made his own way in this world.  Rest in Peace Chuck!
