On the evening of July 12th, 2024, Gordon Wesley Hamilton entered the arms of Jesus. Gordy fought a long and courageous battle with glioblastoma until his Savior called him home where he is now fully healed!
Gordy was born on February 24th, 1952 in Great Falls, Montana. Shortly after, his family moved to Bellingham. Gordy graduated from Sehome High School and BTC. In 1976, he met and married his “pretty woman” love of his life, Deena. Together they raised their 3 daughters, Sunny, Mandi and Hollie in Lynden.
Our “papa” loved fiercely! His love for our Savior was steady and strong. And he loved his family and friends immensely.
A man of many talents…a jack of all trades! He loved playing jams on his guitar, tromping through the woods on a bow hunting adventure, mastering his stellar BBQ skills, tinkering on anything and everything….If papa couldn’t fix it, no one could! A handyman extraordinaire. But his love for Jesus topped them all! He served his church for many years as youth leader, deacon, elder, neighborhood bible study leader…His life impacted many, whether it was on his multiple job sites as a Plumber/Pipe-Fitter, or just being there for a neighbor in need. He was a stalwart protector of all that he loved. His legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.
Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Hamilton and Frances Hamilton and brother, Art Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Deena; his daughters Sunny (Ben) Tarrell, Mandi Hamilton, Hollie (Colin) Morris, and his grandkids, Caden, Saylor, Lucy, Daisy, Sailor and Maximus Wesley.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Sunrise Baptist Church on August 10th at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship.”
