Gordon M. Gardiner, age 82, of Bellingham, died Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Bellingham. He was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, where he attended East Bakersfield High School. He excelled as a left guard in football and was the president of his student body. He received his BA in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley, and went on to work for Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. in Sunnyvale, CA as a subcontract administrator. He retired in 1994 after 27 years of service and moved with his family to Bellingham, WA, where he lived out the rest of his days. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pamela, and his three children: Douglas, Myles, and Hayley. Gordon enjoyed football, skiing, fishing, cooking, sculpting, comedy, reading, and caring for his family. He was a member of Bellingham Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Although we miss him terribly, we have peace knowing that he had saving faith in Jesus Christ, that he will be spending eternity with his glorious Savior and Lord, and that we will be together again one day. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 3pm, at the Bellingham Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 910 N. Forest St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank in Gordon’s name.
