Gloria Pearl Hanowell

Gloria Pearl (Nelson) Hanowell, age 91, of Blaine formerly of Ferndale passed away peacefully Sunday, February 2, 2025 in Blaine. Gloria was born February 9, 1933 in Flasher, North Dakota to parents Carl & Dagny (Jonson) Nelson. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1951. Gloria married the love of her life Percy T. Hanowell, Jr. on October 20, 1951 in California while Percy was serving in the U.S. Navy. They soon settled down in Ferndale, Washington and began their new life together. Gloria and Percy raised their 6 children Cindy, Michael, Randy, Barry, Cheryl & Carl Hanowell. She was preceded in death by her husband Percy T. Hanowell Jr., daughter Cheryl Tatom Hanowell, sons Michael and Carl Hanowell, her parents Carl and Dagny Nelson, sisters Dorothy Bergh, Donna Carter, her brothers Dolain & Donald Nelson. Gloria is survived by her sons, Barry (Judy) Hanowell, Randy (Kelly) Hanowell; daughter, Cindy Davis; daughter in-laws, Shelly and Debbie Hanowell; sisters, Ione (John) Warkintin, Marilyn (Roger) Ehret, Darlene (John) Bayer; brother, Ronnie (Irene) Nelson. Gloria was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. 

 A memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Triumph Lutheran Church, 5719 Church Road, Ferndale, WA with Pastor Craig Johnson officiating.
