Ernest Cullen Weed, Jr. “Ernie” died on April 20, 2016 in Bellingham, Washington at the age of 73 from complications of diabetes.

Ernie was born on October 26, 1942 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Ernest Cullen Weed and Kathryn O’Keefe Weed. He graduated from Meridian High School; served in the US Navy; and graduated from Western Washington State College with a degree in industrial technology. He married Linda Kratzig in 1966. Ernie worked for Alaska Packers Association and Dakota Creek Industries.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Linda of 50 years; children Ernie III (Stephanie), Kristina (Tom), and Brian; “The Littles” Quinn, Cole, Abbie and Paige; sisters Lana (Joan), Melanie and April (Ken) and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Virginia and Betty.

Ernie loved hunting, fishing, the companionship of his beloved dogs, and was an accomplished gardener. He enjoyed providing his friends and loved ones with free advice.

At Ernie’s request, no services will be held. Memorials can be made to Hospice House of Whatcom County, 2806 Douglas Ave, Bellingham, Washington 98225.
