Ernest Joseph Higman, Sr.

Ernie Higman, Sr., age 74, of Lynden, passed away peacefully in the presence of family Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Bellingham. He was born in Bellingham to parents Tom and Jo (Hickey) Higman. Ernie graduated in 1961 from Bellingham High School and served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force in Military Police and retired as a Sergeant. He then worked for 21 years at the Color Pot in Bellingham. He married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline “Pat” (Hewett) Higman and were married for 55 wonderful years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John and Larry Higman. Ernie is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Tammy (Tom) Graham of Blaine, Sherri (Steve) Cope or Bellingham and Ernie, Jr. (Jan) Higman of Lynden; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Mike, Patti and Bruce. A private family graveside service will be held with military honors at Greenacres Cemetery in Ferndale. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017at 2:00 PM at Valley Church, 904 Nooksack AV, Everson, WA 98247.
