Edith O. Glew

Edith Orah Owen Glew, age 98, of Lynden went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 surrounded by her family.  She was born January 12, 1916 in Spokane, Washington to parents David Williard and Lena Katherine (Ward) Owen.  Edith was the first student at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington and the first student to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree.  After graduating she married the love of her life Merle Alfred Glew in Spokane, Washington.  She and her beloved husband Pastored six Churches throughout the Pacific Northwest.  Edith worked at JCPenney and the Bible Book Store in Seattle.  She was a hard worker and helped provide for her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband Merle Glew in November 22, 1991 and is survived by her three children; Merleen and her husband Richard Strum of Lynden, Ron Glew and his wife Pam of Buckeye, Arizona and Gayle Glew of Newport Beach, California; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, 1:00 PM at Redmond Assembly of God, 16601 NE 95th St., Redmond, WA 98052.  Family suggest memorial donations to; Northwest University, 5520 108th AV, Kirkland, WA 98033.
