Earl Harris

Earl Harris, born on March 22, 1927, made it past the last switchback and parked his truck at his heavenly Fathers gate, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 and passed away at the age of 89. He was born in Ellensburg, Washington to parents Guy and Gladys Harris.  The family moved to Wickersham, WA in 1935. Earl graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1945 and within a few days went into the US Army where he served from June 1945 through 1946. Earl began working in logging camps in Saxon, WA and then drove logging trucks until he retired in 1992. Earl married Ina Bakke on January 27, 1949. The high school sweethearts would have been celebrating 68 years together next month. Earl and Ina settled in Wickersham where they raised their eight children and have continued to live welcoming many grandchildren and great grandchildren through the years. Earl is survived by his wife and sons, Michael (Laurie), Donald (Lorena), Daniel (Amber), and Bryan. Also, daughters, Pamela Sealey, Patricia Hawkins, Jan (Mark) Silves, and Jill (Dave) Zender. Left to remember Papa are 18 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. He also leaves a cousin, Millie Carter, two nieces, one nephew and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry. Memorials may be made to the Little Brown Chapel, Deming Log Show or a charity of your choice. A celebration of his life  will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016, 1:00 PM at the Deming Log Show Museum, 3295 Cedarville Rd., Bellingham, WA 98226.
