Donald Raymond MacDonough, age 89, of Bellingham passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham. He was born April 20, 1932 in Trenton, New Jersey to parents George Parkman and Margaret (Cox) MacDonough, II. Donald and Betty A. (Hathaway) had two children, Susan Lynn MacDonough (aka: Magenta Pierrot) And William Alan MacDonough in the 1950’s. In 1957, the four drove from the East Coast to the West Coast and have been Westerns since. In 1965, a new child was added to the family, Donald MacDonough. Before coming to Bellingham, WA some 32 plus years ago, Don worked in Marine Engineering. He retired from National Steel and Shipbuilding Company in San Diego, CA. He had two adventure years of temporary jobs in New York and Long Beach, CA before he became a Real Estate Broker in Bellingham. He is survived by his wife Betty; 3 children; 6 siblings, the late Eleanor Strong of Rhode Island, George MacDonough of Texas, late Blair MacDonough of Rhode Island, Gordon MacDonough of Arizona, Robert MacDonough of North Carolina and Margaret of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. “Life was good, cutie was his last words”.
