DeeAnn I. (Strotz) Moreau, age 57, of Ferndale, passed away in Bellingham Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015. She was born January 10, 1958 in Bellingham, Washington to parents Bertram A. “Bert” and Joan I. (Barnhardt) Strotz.
The oldest of three, DeeAnn graduated from Ferndale High School in 1976 and attend Washington State University and Olympic Community College. She loved to play softball and never did she meet a stranger on the field.
DeeAnn met and married John E. Moreau on August 7th, 1982. Together, they raised 5 wonderful children. However, DeeAnn’s love for children was so great, that on top of raising their 5 children, she was a foster parent for the state of Washington for 25 plus years. She touched the lives of so many children that needed to know unconditional love.
DeeAnn was preceded in death by her grandson Ezekiel Williams and her dad Bert. She is survived by her husband John E. Moreau of the family home; children Aaron and Steven of Ferndale, Nicky Williams of Everett, Jodi Moreau of Blaine and Haley McNeal of Aberdeen; mother Joan Strotz of Ferndale; brother, Jeff Strotz of Ferndale and sister, Alison Mason of Ferndale; 10 grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A memorial service will be held at Birch Bay Bible Church on Sunday February 15th at 3:00 in the afternoon.
