David Donald Olney

David Donald Olney was born on March 22, 1953, in Bellingham, Washington. He passed away on September 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Gene Olney and the brother to Mike Olney, who had preceded him in passing. Dave was a loving father to two children: his daughter, Janell Patterson, and his late son, Jeff Olney. He is also survived by his wife, Ann Olney, and his two grandchildren, Isaac and Wyatt, who are the children of Janell and her husband, Andy.

Dave’s life was defined by his unwavering call to the sea as a dedicated commercial fisherman. His love for the ocean and the fishing industry shaped his career, leading to lasting connections with fellow fishermen and colleagues.

In his youth, Dave had a passion for skiing at Mt. Baker. He was not only a skilled skier but also a dedicated member of the ski patrol.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his deep connection to the sea. Dave Olney's memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. We will miss him deeply.
