Cristina Hendricks

Cristina Hendricks, born on February 9, 1986 in Manzanillo, Colima Mexico to parents Arturo and Martha Silva. Cristina passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and the dedicated staff at the ICU on February 14, 2025. She leaves behind her husband Reuben Hendricks and her beloved daughters Kenya Faith Groen and Rubie Alice Hendricks. Survived by her sister Carla (Jake) nieces and nephew Jade, Case and Jovi Harkness, and brother Pedro Chavez and nephew Bentley.

Additionally, Cristina is lovingly remembered by parents Arturo Silva and Martha Silva, Glen and Alice Dykstra, siblings Shannon (Jeff), Greg (Kelly), and Grant (Tara) and in-laws Jack and Sharon Hendricks, brothers Cory and Perry (Adriane) Hendricks and the many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt and uncles. Cristina's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Cristina graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 2004, where she met Corby Groen. The two married later that year and began building a life together on a farm in Lynden. Their bond grew even stronger as they welcomed their daughter, Kenya, into the world.

Later in 2019, Cristina met and married Rueben Hendricks, and together they completed their family with the arrival of their daughter, Rubie, in 2020. Cristina’s love for her children and family was her greatest joy, and her nurturing spirit was evident. Cristina was a proud mother to her two daughters, whom she loved deeply. She found joy in the simple moments, whether it was taking walks to the park with her dogs or staying up to date with the latest fashion trends. A cheerleader at heart, Cristina’s passion from her high school cheerleading days to cheering on her Dallas Cowboys. 

Known for her infectious personality, Cristina had an incredible ability to connect with people from all walks of life, always bringing warmth and joy to those around her. Her energy and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
