Colleen Faye Reimers, born in Seattle, WA on February 12, 1926 to Chuck and Hazel Cantrell, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018. The family moved to Bellingham in 1940. Mom Colleen and her sister Helen attended Fairhaven Junior High School and Bellingham High School, with Colleen graduating in 1944. She kept in touch with her classmates at monthly luncheons all these years. After World War II ended, Mom met her husband, Kenneth H. Reimers, who she married in 1948 in Bellingham. Mom and Dad lived in Fairhaven for the rest of their lives. Mom Colleen is survived by her husband, Ken; her sister, Helen O’Donnell; her son, Rick Reimers and his wife Jill; her son Rob Reimers and his wife Donna; grandchildren Lindsay Nowakowski (Josh), Austin Reimers, and Kristen Reimers; and was blessed with great grandchildren, Dilyn and Mason. Mom enjoyed the great outdoors, family camping trips, gardening-especially her prize roses and dahlias, knitting, family dinners and being active in her church, St. James Presbyterian. Mom loved life, her sons and grandchildren. Mom herself was loved by all, always happy and with a beautiful endearing smile! She will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church, 910 14th Street, Bellingham, WA in the Horizon Room on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Casual, informal gathering of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James Presbyterian Church.
