Chuck Coplin, age 82, of Birch Bay, WA and Surprise AZ, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019. Chuck was known as “Clarence in the class room and Clancy on the field” during his years at Highline High School (Class of 1954). He played football at Washington State University where he majored in Engineering. After serving in the Navy and meeting the love of his life, Zoë Diane Forsyth, Chuck worked as a Quality Control Manager at Boeing for 35 years. He and Zoë spent 33 happy years on 5 Mile Lake in Federal Way, WA raising two kids; Kenny and Kerri. Chuck made his family his absolute priority and took the early shift to insure he would always be home in time to see countless soccer games, fish with friends, and cannonball off the dock to swim with his kids on a warm summer afternoon. He will be greatly missed by many friends in the Northwest and Arizona. Chuck was the guy you could always count on. The one with the great laugh and the person that made each of us feel important. Mostly he will be missed by his wife of 56 years. Zoë was his priority and his unselfish focus..especially these last few years, and we all agree with her response to the shocking news: “How could he have a bad heart? He has a great heart!” Clarence (Chuck) Coplin is survived by his wife; Zoë, his children; Kenny Coplin (Abby Stahl) and Kerri (Greg) Dryden, grandchildren; Drew and Zoë Dryden, brother; Don (Wanda) Coplin, sister; Barbara (Chuck) Miller, niece and nephews and a multitude of cherished friends.
