Bruce Alan McLeod, age 77, was a life-long resident of Bellingham. He was born in Bellingham to parents Daniel Armond and Jean McLeod on May 28, 1947. He passed away at Whatcom Hospice House on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Bellingham. Bruce attended Campus School, Fairhaven Junior High, Bellingham High School (class of 1965), Skagit Valley Community College and Western Washington University.
Family was of utmost importance to him. He is survived by Holly, his wife of 56 years. He was a devoted father/grandfather to Daniel McLeod and wife Andrea; David McLeod and his daughters Malone, Mozelle and Maxinie; Amy and husband Jacques Venter and their children Annabelle, Danielle and Duncan; and Jill McLeod. He is also survived by his sister, Danné Swartwood and her family, and other nieces, nephews, in-laws and several life-long friends.
Bruce worked for 25+ years at Morse Hardware. He was careful to have the “right tool for the job.” Knowing that he liked to putter at repairing things, friends or family would often say, “I bet Bruce could fix this,” and he would. However, even with great determination, effort and courage, he could not fix the ravages of his cancers.
