Brad Brose Ambrose

Brad “Brose” Ambrose, age 44, of Bellingham formerly of Blaine passed away surrounded by his family Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Bellingham. He was born December 26, 1969 in Bellingham and was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County graduating from Blaine High School in the Class of 1988. He was an avid sports fanatic, following the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Huskies, L.A. Dodgers and his beloved Blaine Borderites. But his real passion was playing golf. He is survived by his companion and best friend Susan Sanders and Son Ryder Wayne of Bellingham, parents, Don and Rhona Ambrose, Sandi and Larry Brant, all of Blaine, brothers, Jeff Brant of Walla Walla, Brian Ambrose of Blaine, Brent Ambrose and wife Kori of Sumas; nephew Jordan and niece Tehgan and other relatives including very special cousins close to his heart, Heidi, Newton and Preston Bouma, and many friends. Brose grew up in Blaine playing sports and having fun. His famous saying was “every day is a bonus”. This was based on the fact that he was born with a liver disease and after being diagnosed with it, the doctors told his parents that he probably would not live past 11 or 12 years old. After high school Brose became a cook and worked at several restaurants in Blaine. He eventually became a bartender working at the Pastime for many years before going to the Wheelhouse and Coconut Grove. He and his best friend Rick Freeman worked together and also lived together for many years. Several years ago Brose meet Susan Sanders and they became best friends and fell in love. Ryder Wayne was born on May 13, 2013. Shortly after Ryder was born he became a house husband. Susan worked and Brose took care of Ryder. He was an outstanding Dad and very proud of his son. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, 11:00 AM at the Birch Bay Community Church, 4460 Bay Road, Blaine, WA 98230 with Pastor Tim Thiessen officiating, a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be made to any branch of WECU in the Name of his son Ryder Wayne Ambrose.
