Bonnie Jean Johnson, beloved wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the ripe old age of 91. Bonnie was born March 6, 1931 in Bellingham, Washington to parents Evert Bert and Martha Louise (Foster) Barney. Mom was a devoted wife and was very good at giving her husband, Marvin, orders. She was a caring and loving wife, mom and grandma who was sold out to her kids. She always put not only her family before her own needs but also people in general. Mom was known best for her caring spirit and her cooking, especially her cinnamon rolls. Everything she did revolved around her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Mom and dad were committed members of Geneva Community Church of Bellingham for many years, and it was there, under the teaching of Rev. Grant Whipple, Rev. Bill Samuel and others that both mom and dad grew in their relationship with God. Mom was very committed to various women's Bible studies, and was a committed Cook for the Firs Bible and Missionary Conference. Mom loved teaching special needs children in Bellingham at Redwood School and would often bring many of them into our home. She was a regular volunteer to cook meals for anyone in need and she loved hosting numerous gatherings in her home for a wonderful tasty meal. Mom truly modeled the Christ life that she professed by serving and caring for people. She was a true servant giving all glory to God. She was a great mom, which can't be emphasized enough. She was not a milk toast passive mom but knew how to keep her children in line, and we kids feared the wrath of mom, especially Tim. She was a committed fan to her boy's involvement in sports and her daughter Julie in horsemanship. Julie married Dr. Rob Enns of B.C. and mom and dad were so proud of their many accomplishments. Julie's life as a Doctor's wife was very important to mom and she spent much time in Canada helping with Julie's many responsibilities. She was such a supporter of her first son, Mike, in his ministry career at the Firs and then Compassion International. When her second son, Tim, became senior pastor at Rome Community Bible Church in Bellingham she and dad followed him there and then to Faith Community Church in Lynden where they remained there for thirteen years. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons, daughter, Julie Enns and granddaughter, Lisi Rose Johnson. Mom leaves behind her two sons Mike and wife Cheryl of Bellingham and Tim and wife Lael of Lynden; son-in-law, Dr. Rob Enns of Surry, B.C.; brother Everett and wife Jan Barney of Salt Lake City; sister Donna Walker of Salt Lake City; eleven grandchildren; Benjamin Johnson, Tyrell Johnson, Rebekah Durias, Jared Johnson, Aubrey Feyen, Amber Guevara, Stephen Johnson, Brielle Johnson, Brianna Enns, Janae Enns, Chasyen Enns; Ten great grandchildren, Solomon, Penelope and Romeo Durias; Sammy and Ondine Guevara; Pearl and Zaria Feyen; Finnley, Lochland, and McKinnon Johnson; Samuel, Evie, Annie, and Asher Johnson and numerous relatives and friends. Mom will be dearly missed by her family and friends. But for those of us who have trusted in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is never good-by, it is "See you soon, mom."
