Arvid Jack Diemert, age 74 of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Hospice House after a five month battle against cancer. He was born on March 22, 1941 to Edna (Erickson) and Robert Perkins. He was raised by his mother and loving stepfather, Irwin Diemert. Arvid graduated from Bellingham High School in 1959 and graduated from Western Washington University in 1965. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Kory Karber. Arvid was well known as a banker and commercial loan officer for over 30 years. In Arv's spare time he enjoyed gardening, golfing, fly fishing, and duck hunting. Arv really enjoyed his weekly Bible studies which strengthened his faith. His patient nature and kind heart touched everyone he met and as president of his Home Owners Association he was respected for his diplomacy. Arvid served his country as an MP in the Army and in the reserves for six years. He was preceded in death by his parents and father in law John Karber. He is survived by his wife Kory Diemert, his brothers-in-law: John (Mary) Karber, Bob Karber, Jerry (Sharon) Karber, and sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Mike) Ganzini and Lyn (Don) Pearce, 11 nephews and nieces, 18 great nephews and nieces, his Aunt Wilma Erickson and numerous cousins. There will be a graveside service and burial on Friday October 30th at 2:30pm with military honors at Enterprise Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 31st at 1pm at Northlake Community Church on the corner of McLeod and Britton Rd in Bellingham with a reception to follow.
