Alvin "Andy" Anderson, 73, passed away on November 27, 2024. Alvin was born to Bob and Eva Anderson on September the 23rd of 1951. He joined older siblings Joe, Jeanne and Mary at that time. Later, their younger brother Duane would arrive. Alvin grew up at 20th and Douglas on his beloved Southside. Few called him Alvin, almost everyone knew him as "Andy."
He graduated from a still-under-construction Sehome High School and later attended Skagit Valley College. Andy enjoyed softball and playing tennis in his younger years. He also spent time as a singer in a rock band. Through this life he closely followed UW Huskies sports teams and the Seattle Sonics, Mariners and Seahawks.
He had been active in the Old Fairhaven Association, and during his involvement he especially enjoyed contributing to the Ski to Sea live music. One of his highpoints was to emcee the stage in character as Groucho Marx.
Andy was known for his quick wit and usually had a wise crack or comment loaded when you spoke to him.
His work life included times as a tree planter, cannery worker, bartender and also in refinery maintenance. Al found his calling in restaurant work. He would be quick to tell you that he was a cook.
After his retirement he spent his later years living at Chuckanut Square in his beloved Southside until his passing.
Alvin was proceeded in death by his parents, Bob and Eva, as well as siblings Joe, Jeanne and Mary. He is survived by his brother Duane of Mission BC and numerous nephews and nieces and extended family. His remains are to be buried at the Hopewell Cemetary. No service is planned.
