Alice Ann Yancey of Bellingham, Washington, died on Sunday, June 7, 2020, she was 84. Alice was born in Baker, Oregon to parents Warren and Helen Yancey. She was raised in Prineville and Portland, Oregon. Alice graduated from Jefferson High School, Lewis and Clark College and Emanuel Nursing School. She also attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon. She came to Bellingham, Washington to serve on The Firs Camp Staff in 1964.
Alice worked as a Registered Nurse in the fields of: Pediatrics, Home Care, Critical Care and Rehabilitation. She spent nearly 40 years caring for patients at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon and at St. Luke’s / St. Josephs Hospital’s in Bellingham Washington, retiring in 1995.
Alice had a passion for making life fun. She loved her Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family and friends. She was involved in her church, the Back Country Horseman Riding Club, traveled, played many different instruments and everywhere she went she made friends, she knew no strangers.
Her memories and health faded in recent years due to dementia.
Alice is survived by 3 generations of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend and sister in Christ, Angie Schutte of Bellingham Washington. She had a very rich life filled with great times, memories, and people. Her Christian heritage guided her life. Private Burial, will be held at Monumenta Cemetery, Lynden Washington. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family suggests remembrances to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or the Immanuel Bible Church, Bellingham Washington.
